Tuesday 4th March saw our annual Apprenticeships Open Day. We were delighted to welcome over 70 visitors to our Reading training centre.

If you missed this event there is an opportunity to come and find out more about apprenticeship training opportunities in child care or business administration. We hold information sessions every Tuesday morning at 9am – come along and find out more.

Each year Chiltern Training sponsor one Advanced Apprenticeship learner to travel abroad on a GAP opportunity. The Chiltern GAP Challenge offers young people the chance to explore the world and experience different cultures, developing valuable life skills. Previous students have travelled to a variety of places such as Ecuador, India, Japan and Thailand.

This year we had some really excellent applications. A shortlist of 3 learners was compiled and we are delighted to announce that Adam Feak has been selected as the 2014 GAP student. Congratulations Adam!

February 2014

Chiltern staff and learners attended the TES FE Awards ceremony on Friday 28th February to celebrate our achievements at being nominated for the Initiative for Lifelong Learning Widening Participation Award. The evening was a wonderful celebration of Training Providers and colleges work at improving training opportunities in the FE sector. We had a great evening and although we did not win the award everyone is still extremely proud of our achievements and being recognised!

We are thrilled to announce that Chiltern Training Ltd have been shortlisted for the TES FE Awards. It is very exciting for us, as an independent training provider, to be recognised for all our hard work. We have been noted especially for helping 'to encourage male learners within the childcare sector'. We will be getting suited and booted for the ceremony on the 28th February so keep your eyes peeled on Facebook and twitter for updates.
