National Apprenticeship Week |
March 2014Tuesday 4th March saw our annual Apprenticeships Open Day. We were delighted to welcome over 70 visitors to our Reading training centre. If you missed this event there is an opportunity to come and find out more about apprenticeship training opportunities in child care or business administration. We hold information sessions every Tuesday morning at 9am – come along and find out more. We also held a ‘Have a Go’ event on Friday 7th March. Students and visitors were able to try some hands on activities such as changing a nappy on our Real Care babies or completing some business admin challenges. We were delighted to welcome Alok Sharma, Member of Parliament for Reading West to the centre. Mr Sharma met some current apprentices said: “I was delighted to take part in the Chiltern Skills Apprenticeship Challenge, to help raise the profile of local apprenticeships. As a parent you learn to deal with young children, but the training that these apprentices receive do clearly add value and you can see how important the skills the young people are developing are to maintaining high standards of care in the childcare industry.” http://www.getreading.co.uk/news/business/reading-businesses-boosting-apprenticeship-opportunities-6806065
